Have you ever heard of ISB’s ECO team? Many students/parents may not realize just how many initiatives the school is involved in to help raise awareness about environmental issues. The ECO team works hard to promote a culture of responsibility and environmental consciousness throughout the campus. Through various projects, campaigns, and activities, they encourage students to think more deeply about global challenges such as climate change, resource conservation, and the protection of natural ecosystems. Their focus on sustainability and efficiency helps the school community understand the importance of making smart, environmentally friendly choices. Whether it’s reducing waste, improving recycling habits, or finding greener ways to use energy, the ECO team plays a key role in helping students learn how small actions can make a big difference in our environment. There is at least one representative from every class in the school, forming a diverse and collaborative ECO team that brings together students of different ages and perspectives. This group works actively to plan initiatives, organize environmental projects, and design informative posters that can be seen around the campus. Their goal is to ensure that all students remain aware of important environmental issues and are constantly reminded of how their actions can contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable school community.

For example, there have been many activities carried out since the beginning of the school year, all designed to help students become more conscious of their impact on the environment and to encourage responsible habits. One of the first major activities was participation in “World Clean Up Day,” an event that encouraged the entire school community to take initiative and get involved. During this event, volunteers worked together to sort waste into the correct recycling bins, ensuring that paper, plastic, metal, and other materials were properly separated.

This hands-on experience helped students understand the importance of correct waste sorting. They were able to see firsthand how each material requires different processing and how incorrectly mixed trash can make recycling more difficult, time-consuming, and less effective. By taking part in the cleanup and sorting activities, students began to realize that even small daily habits—like throwing something in the right bin—can have a meaningful impact. It also raised awareness about how much waste is produced in a short period of time and highlighted the importance of keeping the school environment clean and sustainable for everyone.

We have planned a wide range of activities throughout the year, all aimed at increasing environmental awareness and encouraging students to take action within the school community. It is important for us to see the participation and interest of the students, because their involvement shows that our efforts are making an impact. When students are engaged and motivated, the message of sustainability becomes stronger and more meaningful.

To achieve this, we are organizing school assemblies, interactive presentations, and hands-on activities that are both educational and enjoyable. These events give students the opportunity to learn in a dynamic way rather than just listening passively. Whether it’s participating in challenges, watching informative videos, attending workshops, or joining group discussions, each activity is designed to help students understand environmental issues more deeply. Our goal is to create a learning experience that not only teaches important concepts, but also inspires students to apply what they learn in their daily lives, making the school a greener and more responsible community.

In conclusion, ISB’s ECO team continues to play an essential role in shaping a more environmentally conscious school community. Through teamwork, dedication, and a commitment to meaningful action, they demonstrate that real change begins with small steps taken together. By engaging students in hands-on experiences, informative assemblies, and ongoing projects, the ECO team not only spreads awareness but also empowers young people to make responsible choices in their daily lives. Their efforts show that when a community works collectively toward sustainability, the impact can reach far beyond the school walls. With continued participation and enthusiasm from students, staff, and families, ISB is well on its way to building a future where environmental responsibility is not only taught but lived every day.
